a. This excellent example of Mission style architecture was originally
constructed as a Frame Vernacular house during the early part of the twentieth
century. The Sunshine
Fruits Company, which managed fruit groves for absentee owners, purchased
the house in 1915 to serve as an inn for prospective clients. After the
company sold the inn in 1924, the new owners remodeled the building in
the popular Mission style with a textured stucco exterior and distinctive
curved parapets.
