b. This ornate commercial building was constructed at the beginning of
the Florida Land Boom era. The architects' extensive use of Neo-Classical
ornamentation attempted to distinguish the building from other properties
in downtown Miami. Pfeiffer and O'Reilly's most distinctive flourishes
are on the second floor, where cartouches, stylized acanthus leaves, rusticated
masonry, and a pierced balustrade accentuate the building's corner location.
The Hahn Building was listed in the National Register of Historic
Places in 1989.
