a. First Presbyterian Church, home to Miami's oldest congregation, is
a distinctive post–World War II example of the Mediterranean Revival
style. The building includes the Flagler Memorial Chapel, which contains
salvaged portions of the original First Presbyterian Church building constructed
in 1900. Railroad magnate Henry M. Flagler, himself a Presbyterian, funded
the construction of the original church building.
