Date Designated: 1983

a. This simple, board-and-batten, one-room, Frame Vernacular building was constructed in 1887 as a Sunday school for Coconut Grove pioneers. The School Board rented the building in 1889 for use as Coconut Grove's first public school. The schoolhouse was moved to the grounds of Plymouth Congregational Church in 1970.The First Coconut Grove Schoolhouse was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
